Michael J. Radzicki is an Associate Professor of
Economics at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester,
Massachusetts. He received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of
Notre Dame and his
training in system dynamics modeling from the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Professor Radzicki has published numerous articles
in professional journals including the
Oxford Economic Papers,
Economics Letters, the
Journal of Economic Issues, the
Arizona Law Review, the
System Dynamics Review, and the
Center for Quality of Management Journal. He is a frequent lecturer
at universities in Europe and the United States and is currently writing a
system dynamics-based book on "macroeconomic dynamics", developing
a system dynamics model of the United States economy based on
Post Keynesian and institutionalist economic theory, developing
several agent-based computer simulation models
based on insights from cognitive psychology, and creating several
automated stocks, options and futures trading strategies. Professor Radzicki
serves on the editorial boards of the
Journal of Economic Issues,
the
System Dynamics Review,
the International
Journal of Transdisciplinary Research and the
Systems Thinker. In
2006 he served as president of the
System Dynamics Society.
Professor Radzicki has worked as a consultant for
numerous public and private sector organizations including: Applied Science and Technology, Inc.; Astec America, Inc.;
AT&T; Automation and Information Planners, Inc.; Berwyn Industries;
Caterpillar, Inc.; Electronic Controls Corporation; Harcourt, Brace and
Jovanovich, Inc.; Mead Corporation; Modus Media International; Press,
Ganey Associates, Inc.; Raytheon Corporation, the city of Reno, Nevada; the Sokaogon Chippewa
Community of Wisconsin; United Health Group, the United States
Department of Energy, and the United States Department of Homeland
Security.
In addition to his work in economics and computational methods,
Professor Radzicki is an avid long distance runner, stocks, options and
futures trader, and a 4th
degree black belt instructor in
Bushido-Zen Kenpo Karate. He also serves
on the Planning Board for the Town of Sterling, Massachusetts
and as a board member for the
William J. O'Brien
Distinguished Lecture Series.
